The KTP/532 wavelength laser is a green light device that can be used for the treatment of small but visible facial veins – those red, blue, or purple colored blood vessels that are found near the skin’s surface and discoloration caused by acneic conditions. The laser’s light energy is absorbed by vascular areas of the skin, with relatively little absorption in the surrounding/underlying tissue; there is virtually no adjacent tissue damage. Anesthesia is not required for the process and patients can walk out of the office immediately without post-treatment bruising or pain. Lite Laser peels with the Erbium are sometimes also used to control active acne by destroying bacteria and drying up pustules.
